And of course, I think a test server should not allow testers to spend money, so nobody would be disappointed by resets.ĭevelopers could do load tests, gather data and stats from the tests, and ask testers to check new features or specific stuff sometimes. With limited time to play until a new reset, the test server will not replace the gameplay experience in live servers. If I were who design the testing, all cities would be reset to a predefined model for every new major release, and testers would be provided with an easy way to chose what age they wish to test stuff that time, and maybe a way to go forward and backward at will. Soon, I realized I cannot fast forward ages and need to play as slow as in live servers it took me just a few days to give up.
